PAPER CRAFTING

Tags, etc

Tags, tickets, rolodex cards and other small objects allow for a large amount of creativity in a small space.

I like the challenge of utilizing color, textures, language and background to create special sentiments.

page embellishments

Creating larger elements, up to approx 6×9 for journals is another means to incorporate fabrics, photos, papers, ephemera and even stitching. I often leave a small pocket for placing a journal card.

Metal

Besides commercially created tags, and I am a huge fan of Tim Holtz, I like creating my own designs with copper ribbon. A run through my embossing machine, and enhancements with alcohol sinks creates something unique which I typically use as an accent on some other paper item.

Old Photographs

Scanned, cropped and enhanced before printing can keep memories of long gone ancestors alive or provide a focal point within a particular project

Small Embellishments

Very small objects, such as these 2-inch puzzle pieces provide embellishment for other larger objects.
